JOIN OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Friends of Wesleyville Village is continuing to evolve and grow, and so is our need for passionate, community-minded leadership. We currently have one open position on our volunteer Board of Directors, and we’re inviting expressions of interest from individuals who want to help preserve and share the unique heritage and experience of our village.

Find out more by filling in our volunteer sign-up form. A member of our team will call you to discuss our current openings and help find a role that's right for you.

A nine-member volunteer Board of Directors oversees the organization’s governance, while standing volunteer committees manage day-to-day operations. Board members meet once per month for approximately two hours, to provide oversight and guidance on the governance of Wesleyville Heritage Village. In addition to these monthly meetings, board members may choose to join one of our active committees: Properties, Finance, Events, Fundraising, and Marketing. These committees offer an opportunity to contribute more directly to specific areas of interest and help shape the future of the village.

Minimum time required: 2 hours per month, (in-person or virtual meetings)

No specific skills are required, just an interest in heritage, community, and conservation, and a willingness to collaborate. Experience on a working board or in building restoration is an asset.

Executive positions such as Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary are elected annually via board vote at the Annual General Meeting.

Board members play a vital role in shaping our activities, guiding our decisions, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the village. If you have time to share, we’d love to hear from you.

Wesleyville Heritage Village is situated on the Michi Saagig Anishinaabeg traditional territory covered by the Williams Treaties, specifically the Gunshot Treaty signed by the Mississauga First Nations of Alderville, Curve Lake, Hiawatha and Scugog Island. We express gratitude towards the Indigenous peoples who have and will continue to steward these lands and waters. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging. We dedicate ourselves to moving forward in the spirit of partnership, collaboration, and reconciliation, as we contemplate the possibilities that lie ahead. Our commitment is to listen, learn, and establish meaningful relationships with our Indigenous sector colleagues, and take actions that advance reconciliation. We do so by recognizing the past and working towards a shared future.
