A new way to give back

The Friends of Wesleyville Village are forming a new Strategic Fundraising Committee, and inviting volunteers with passion and experience to take part in shaping the next chapter of this treasured community space.

With a long-term vision that includes restored heritage buildings available for public and private use, continued community programming, and welcoming natural spaces, Wesleyville Village is laying the groundwork for a future filled with opportunity. Local support has always been the cornerstone of our progress, and this new committee offers a meaningful way to ensure the village remains open to our local community for generations to come.

The Fundraising Committee will support Wesleyville Village’s mission by exploring new avenues for fundraising, donor engagement, and sponsorships. The committee includes a variety of roles suited to different interests and skill sets, and we encourage applicants to explore the role that feels right for them. Opportunities are available for individuals with fundraising experience, as well as those who are passionate about community-building. All contributions will be welcomed and valued.

Participating in the committee provides volunteers with numerous benefits, including the chance to build their local network, develop their fundraising and outreach skills, and be directly involved in a project that celebrates local history and brings people together. Volunteers will contribute to keeping Wesleyville Village active, welcoming, and future focussed.

You can read our full information package, including the various roles available on the committee, by clicking on Volunteer in the menu above. We hope you'll join us!

The Friends of Wesleyville Village was founded on the lands of the Michi Saagig Anishinaabeg traditional territory covered by the Williams Treaties, specifically the Gunshot Treaty signed by the Mississauga First Nations of Alderville, Curve Lake, Hiawatha and Scugog Island. We express gratitude towards the Indigenous peoples who have and will continue to steward these lands and waters. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging. We dedicate ourselves to moving forward in the spirit of partnership, collaboration, and reconciliation, as we contemplate the possibilities that lie ahead. Our commitment is to listen, learn, and establish meaningful relationships with our Indigenous sector colleagues, and take actions that advance reconciliation. We do so by recognizing the past and working towards a shared future.
