Spotlight on Robin Marsh, Heritage Village Technician

Our 2025 summer employee, Robin Marsh, completed a successful 8-week term as our Heritage Village Technician. Robin welcomed visitors with enthusiasm and skill during Step Around Wesleyville weekends, and developed content for our new Curated Stories signage project, which launched in October.

Throughout the summer, Robin also got hands-on with restoration work, removing cladding from the west Y-House wall, levelling bricks at the barn, and preparing the schoolhouse door and window frames for refinishing. They added creativity to our programming with a nature-themed scavenger hunt, contributed photos and captions to the Ontario Historical Society, and supported our summer events. We’re incredibly grateful for the energy, ideas, and dedication that Robin brought to the village!

Wesleyville Heritage Village is situated on the Michi Saagig Anishinaabeg traditional territory covered by the Williams Treaties, specifically the Gunshot Treaty signed by the Mississauga First Nations of Alderville, Curve Lake, Hiawatha and Scugog Island. We express gratitude towards the Indigenous peoples who have and will continue to steward these lands and waters. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging. We dedicate ourselves to moving forward in the spirit of partnership, collaboration, and reconciliation, as we contemplate the possibilities that lie ahead. Our commitment is to listen, learn, and establish meaningful relationships with our Indigenous sector colleagues, and take actions that advance reconciliation. We do so by recognizing the past and working towards a shared future.
